Today, Indian American Republican Council Chairman Dr. R. Vijayanagar (Dr. Vijay) thanked the White House for agreeing to host the 3rd consecutive Diwali function.
“I want to express my sincere thanks to the White House, especially Rhonda Keenum, Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of Public Liaison, for helping to arrange the Diwali celebration this year,” said Dr. Vijay. “Our community works with dedicated public servants in the Administration on an ongoing basis, creating a mutually beneficial exchange of ideas. The White House continues to encourage Indian Americans to become part of the mainstream conservative movement, and this event is another example of solid support for our community.
“For the third consecutive year, the White House will host a Diwali function to honor Indian Americans, and we are thankful that President George W. Bush will send an official from his Administration on his behalf to share this joyous occasion with us.”
Diwali will be officially celebrated at the White House on November 1, 2005 at 3:30 p.m.
