Celebrating Communism … in America?

The Empire State Building honored the 60th anniversary of the Communist takeover in China by lighting up the top of the tower in red and yellow. We realize the Communists in China want to celebrate the mass starvation of millions of innocent people and celebrate their enforced abortion policy, but we fail to understand why the building managers at the Empire State Building felt the same way.
Knowing the sacrifice of blood and treasure made by so many Americans to fight the spread of Communism over the past 50 years makes you wonder how a symbolic building in a city that defines America, could gleefully support shining the red lights of Communism in the Big Apple. Next time, instead of red, how about a little red, white and blue.
